To mark the 550th anniversary of the Battle of Murten, the special exhibition \u2018Distinguished! The Golden Star of Thun\u2019 explores the history of seals and coats of arms in Thun. The focus is on the coat of arms revision of 1476, during which the black star was replaced by a golden one as a sign of recognition. The exhibition traces the fascinating history of distinction, identity and tradition \u2013 from the Middle Ages to the present day. The exhibition is called:

The exhibition marks the 550th anniversary.
The anniversary marks the Battle of Murten.
The battle took place 550 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition focuses on seals and coats of arms.
These are special symbols for towns.
The exhibition traces the history of Thun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1476, the coat of arms was changed.
Previously, there was a black star on the coat of arms.
Then a golden star was added.
The golden star was intended to make the town better known.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition shows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How the town\u2019s symbols have changed
How the town sees itself
What traditions exist
All of this from the past to the present day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can see genuine old artefacts.
