Distinguished! The Golden Star of Thun

To mark the 550th anniversary of the Battle of Murten, the special exhibition ‘Distinguished! The Golden Star of Thun’ explores the history of seals and coats of arms in Thun. The focus is on the coat of arms revision of 1476, during which the black star was replaced by a golden one as a sign of recognition. The exhibition traces the fascinating history of distinction, identity and tradition – from the Middle Ages to the present day. In 1476, the coat of arms was changed.
Previously, there was a black star on the coat of arms.
Then a golden star was added.
