Two unique, history-steeped venues for your event: the medieval Knights’ Hall in the keep and the open-air castle courtyard – hireable separately or combined.
Knights’ Hall
One of the best-preserved medieval ceremonial halls in Europe. The Knights’ Hall in the keep offers an atmospheric setting and is particularly well suited to apéros, banquets and gatherings.
The Knights’ Hall is not heated: from October to early May no events take place in the hall.
Hire conditions
- For a banquet, tables and chairs are included in the price.
- CHF 60.– per hour for setting up and clearing away (at least 2 hours).
- You must organise a professional caterer yourself.
- For cultural events (concerts, theatre, readings), special conditions and prices apply due to ongoing museum operations.

Castle courtyard
Set in front of the imposing keep, the castle courtyard is one of the most beautiful spots in Thun. With its unique, history-steeped atmosphere it makes the perfect setting for private events and company functions – particularly suited to open-air apéros.
The castle courtyard is not covered – events take place only in good weather.
Hire conditions
- Cancellation possible up to 48 hrs (handling fee CHF 50.–).
- 3 tables and 6 chairs are included in the price.
- CHF 60.– per hour for setting up and clearing away (as required).
- Catering recommended by Restaurant Schlossberg; own catering possible by arrangement.
