Awarded! The Golden Star of Thun
550 years of the Battle of Murten · 25 April 2026 – 22 March 2027
To mark the 550th anniversary of the Battle of Murten, the temporary exhibition “Awarded! The Golden Star of Thun” explores the history of seals and coats of arms in Thun. At its heart is the augmentation of arms of 1476, when the black star was replaced by a golden one as a token of recognition.
The exhibition tells the fascinating story of distinction, identity and tradition – from the Middle Ages to today. Discover original objects, learn more about the augmentation of arms and, in the footsteps of the Fulehung, experience Thun’s living cultural heritage.
