Self-guided visit through the keep

School classes can also visit Thun Castle on a self-guided tour by prior arrangement.

Registration is made via the form below. Please bring the confirmation issued by Thun Castle in printed form – admission is only permitted with it. By submitting the form you accept the visiting conditions listed below.

Conditions for a self-guided tour

Teachers are responsible for their pupils. Children must not be left unsupervised.

You are in a historic monument. To protect it, the following rules apply:

  • Deposit backpacks as instructed by the ticket office staff.
  • Stay together as a group; do not let children and young people walk through the castle unsupervised.
  • One adult accompanying person must be present for every five children or young people.
  • Do not run around within the castle walls.
  • Avoid noise (including music, mobile phones and other electronic devices).
  • Do not leave any graffiti.
  • Touching exhibits is not permitted. Interactive stations are marked accordingly.
  • Do not leave any litter and behave appropriately towards other visitors.

Important: you must register in advance. Please fill in the form on this page. You will receive a confirmation from the castle. Please print the confirmation. No admission without confirmation. When you send the form, you accept the rules.

  • The teacher looks after the children. Children must not be alone.
  • Deposit backpacks. Stay together as a group.
  • Do not run. Be quiet. No loud music and no loud phones.
  • Do not write on the walls. Do not break anything.
  • Do not touch the exhibits. Do not leave any litter.
  • Respect other visitors. For every 5 children, 1 adult is needed.

The castle is very old. Please take good care of it.
